Here at The Chapel Salzburg, serving in ministry is one of the ways that we render unto God the things that are His (Matthew 22:21). Serving is an essential part of growth in the Christian life. Sometimes it is easy for believers to come to Sunday services, midweek Bible studies and receive richly from the Word of God only to miss out on the blessing of serving the Lord and sharing His love with others.
In Ephesians 4:12, we find that the teaching we receive as a body of believers is designed to “equip the saints for the work of the ministry.” When we receive the Word of God, we have a responsibility to act on what we have received. In this Scripture, Paul refers to the ministry as “work”. If we think about the characteristics of work, it involves labor, commitment, and in the end, it has a payoff of some type. Ministry unto the Lord is essentially the same – as the Lord enables us to do the work, we must be committed to that work. In the end, we reap the precious reward of becoming more like Jesus!
We ask you to prayerfully consider where the Lord is leading you to serve and pray that you will follow the guiding of the Holy Spirit in doing so. When you sit at the Lord’s feet and seek His will, He will enable you to do His work!
Ephesians 2:10 “we are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
